Cisco 3200 Series Wireless and Mobile Router Intelligent Video Server
Cisco® 3200 Series Wireless and Mobile Routers are rugged wireless routers that offer secure data, voice, and video communication, and support multiple wired and wireless links, including integrated 802.11b/g and 4.9-GHz wireless technologies. With a flexible, compact form factor, these rugged routers are ideally suited for integration into vehicles or outdoor environments. Standards-based mobile IP delivers transparent roaming for mobile applications. And Cisco IOS® Software provides security, manageability, and scalability, along with interoperability between networks, while allowing for future network expansions and upgrades.
The Intelligent Video Server (IVS) bundle consisting of the IVS video card, a replacement antenna endcap for the Cisco 3200 Series enclosure, and internal cabling is available from a third-party system integrator fully assembled into a Cisco 3200 Series Wireless and Mobile Router enclosure bundle.
The IVS video card is a compact, PC-104+ based, two-channel video adapter employing H.264 or MPEG-4 video compression and advanced video analytics from the leading analytics vendors. The video card transforms standard analog video cameras into IP video streams, delivering reliable content analysis and high performance. This video card is equipped with Point, Tilt, and Zoom (PTZ) control, audio channel encoding, and supports the same rugged and extended temperature ranges as the Cisco 3200 Series routers.

The IVS video card's onboard software allows full command and control of video parameters such as resolution, bit rate, frame rate, and the video analytics embedded into the card through simple user interfaces. The software also supports on-board video analytics that can modify the behavior of the video encoder on the fly, to conserve wireless bandwidth when nothing "interesting" (as defined by user generated rules) is being viewed.
The intelligent video server feature is supported by most of the leading video management and storage systems, and is easily integrated into existing IP-based video systems.
The Cisco 3200 Series is a modular platform consisting of an IP routing, serial, fast Ethernet, and wireless interfaces. The following cards are the building blocks for the Cisco 3200 Series:
• Mobile Access Router Card (MARC)
• Serial Mobile Interface Card (SMIC)
• Fast Ethernet Switch Mobile Interface Card (FESMIC)
• 2.4-GHz, 4.9-GHz, and 5.8-GHz wireless mobile interface cards (WMICs)
• Rugged enclosure with Mobile Router Power Card (MRPC) and internal cabling
The rugged enclosure addresses specific physical and environmental deployment requirements for public safety, homeland security, transportation, and defense markets. Manufactured by Cisco, the Cisco 3200 Series rugged enclosure completely seals the cards and is designed to withstand harsh environments inside vehicles and in outdoor deployments. The enclosure is designed to withstand high temperature variations, high altitude, intense shock and vibration, and exposure to damp, wet, or dusty conditions.
The rugged enclosure provides a single housing and robust protection for the Cisco 3200 Series Wireless and Mobile Router components. There are two different Cisco rugged enclosures available for order. The first enclosure is for the Cisco 3230 and the second enclosure is for the Cisco 3270. Figure 1 and Figure 2 show the two different Cisco rugged enclosures. Figures 3 and 4 show the modified rear endcaps that allow connection of analog video and audio sources and camera PTZ control.
Each router and mobile interface card stored inside the enclosure has a set of thermal plates surrounding it that act as a thermal conductor to dissipate heat from the hottest components on the card.

After the intelligent video server bundle has been integrated with the Cisco 3200 Series enclosures, the replacement antenna endcaps, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, allow connection of analog video and audio sources and camera PTZ control.

Eligibility to Purchase and Resell the Cisco 3200 Series Wireless and Mobile Router with Intelligent Video Server Feature
Cisco Wireless Specialized Partners are eligible to purchase and resell the Cisco 3200 Series Wireless and Mobile Router and the intelligent video server when it is offered as a bundled solution in a Cisco 3200 Series rugged enclosure. Advanced technology partner status is not required.
How to Order the Intelligent Video Server Feature for the Cisco 3200 Series Wireless and Mobile Router
To order complete system with the video card, including the modified Cisco 3200 Series enclosure endcap, and internal cabling, follow these steps:
